Northwestern coach Pat Fitzgerald discussed recruiting on the Tim Brando Show, CBS Sports Network:

“I really believe that with the transparency of the Internet, families are able to see deeper into this  recruiting process, see through the innuendo, the smoke and mirrors that unfortunately some coaches and programs use in their recruiting tactics to sell the kid on their school.   And then he gets there and he says, ‘This is not what I expected.’   The transparency has helped our school show who we are, what we’re all about.”
